A colleague at work discovered an old drawer with a damaged runner wheel, the manufacturer no longer manufactures replacement wheels. A perfect scenario for utilizing a 3D printer! I created a model of the existing wheel using Autodesk's 123D Design software, combining cylinders of varying sizes with the Combine/Merge and Combine/Subtract tools. I beveled the edges of the wheel but realized after printing the initial prototype that it was not sufficient, so I added more chamfers to the second prototype which looked acceptable. I incorporated a screw pocket on one side so when secured to the bracket, the head will have some recessed space to conceal in. The wheel measures 28.2mm in diameter, with a central hole of 7mm. The protrusion on the side is 5.26mm. I'm providing the 123D file for anyone else who needs to modify it according to their application requirements. Print Settings Rafts: None Supports: None Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 100% Notes: Printed with Taulman 910 Alloy Nylon, so it should endure indefinitely How I Designed This Designed in 123D Design, starting with a cylinder of the correct wheel dimensions, beveling the sides and adding an additional cylinder on one side for the extension. Utilized a third 7mm cylinder to drill through the central screw hole and a fourth 10mm cylinder to carve out the screw pocket on the opposing end.
