<p>A friend sent me a clamping collar (broken) to duplicate. &nbsp;It turned out to be a good learning experience and was harder than it looks. &nbsp;Challenges included matching thread, creating opening and exiting thread channels, maintaining dimensional accuracy and creating an artistic knob-like outcome.</p><p>Printing: &nbsp;Suggest a tough filament, PETG is suitable for fit trials, but ASA/ABS or PC-Blend fora final part - it takes considerable radial stress.&nbsp;</p><p>Supports: if your printer does threads and small overhangs well, you can go without support by inverting the part in your slicer. &nbsp;Prints well with “supports everywhere”, but there can be some cleanup.</p>
