Replacement break away clip for I-blason Magama Case (Note 8)
thingiverse
I've always been an Otter Box fan when it comes to my phones. However, I wasn't impressed with their case for the Note 8 and opted instead for the I-Blason Magma Series phone case. One feature I really liked about this case is the phone clip that came with it - a breakaway mechanism allows the holder to detach from the belt clip if you catch it on something, snapping back into place easily. I accidentally broke this mechanism one too many times and eventually developed a small crack in the piece that attaches the phone case to the belt clip. Although it still worked, it became ridiculously easy to snap off, so I decided to create a new version with improved retention. The resulting clip is more challenging to insert than the original, but it's well worth the extra effort. I printed this part in ABS plastic, marking my first successful ABS print using my CR10 3D printer - I'm thrilled with how it turned out. When printing this case and clip, make sure to orient them correctly: they must be printed upright to ensure proper functionality. You can find the specific product I'm referring to on Amazon at https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B0752FS4F7/. Keep in mind that this may work for other phones from the same brand, but I haven't had a chance to verify its compatibility.
