This replacement housing serves as an alternative to the blower motor and squirrel cage found in most K40 Lasers' standard blower units. It seamlessly fits into the slot behind the machine, consumes less space, and grants access to the laser compartment without requiring removal. You will require: 16 x M4 Nuts 04 x 8mm M4 Screws 03 x 12mm M4 Screws 06 x 15mm M4 Screws 03 x 20mm M4 Screws To get started, you'll need to disassemble your old blower housing. Keep the motor, starting capacitor, and squirrel cage intact, along with their mounting components. For a proper assembly, remove the mounting tab on the starting capacitor. Before assembling, make sure all M4 nuts are securely seated in their nut traps. Be cautious when tightening screws, as excessive force can crack printed plastic parts. The ventilation tube is attached using two adapters: a 4" (100mm) version and a 3" (75mm) version. Print one of these adapters according to your needs. Assemble the housing by centering the motor perfectly in its mount. Failing to do so may cause binding, damaging the internal windings of the motor. If the motor binds, unplug the power cable and verify that it's centered. Don't let the motor remain bound for more than a few seconds. If the motor still doesn't rotate freely after centering, you might have a warped squirrel cage. Check out this resource: www.thingiverse.com/thing:3711448
