THE Evike FN Scar-L AEG has a problem where the battery pack will overhead and explode if you charge it overnight. This is a replacement battery pack designed to take 6 rechargeable AA batteries, which you can charge independently in a smart charger. Required parts: Battery contacts from the origional battery (Keep the short red wire and the long blue wire attached) M3 hex socket button head cap screws, 2x 14mm, 2x 10mm M3 hex nuts 4 7 1-inch metal paper clips. A few inches of foam rubber. Required equipment: Soldering iron, hex key or driver for above screws, 1/8 inch drill bit. Instructions: Print and clean all 3 parts. Reccomended material is esun PLA+ or a Polymaker filament used for strength. Print at least 3 walls with a .4 nozzle , I used 2, but with a .6 nozzle. Orientation: Housing, open side up. Top, large flat side down Cover, grooved side up. See pictures for assembly Put a slight bend into 5 of the paperclips, bend point in the middle, approx. 15 degrees. Each divider has a gap, alternating each slot. Slide a paperclip into each gap. There are 8 holes, use a 1/8 inch drill bit to clean up each of them. The back side of the housing has two hexagon holes in it. The underside of the top cover has two as well. Use your soldering iron to push the hexagon nuts in each of the 4 slots. You may need to push a little material over the edge on the back of the top cover. For the first and last contacts, you will need to bend the paperclip into a shape that the will hang over the edge, the battery can contact to, and the wire can solder to. The contact at the top, is easiest to do if you bend your contact shape and leave the tail long, you can run the tail up to the top compartment and solder the short red wire to. The long blue wire can be run down the channel at the back and soldered to the final connecter, take the slack back up into the top area of the box, cover anything you need with electrical tape. The red contact needs the front most bend flattened a little to fit into the forward slot, the contact on the blue wire should fit into the back slot. You may need to flex them slightly to get them to fit. Once in and covered, press the wires in and slide the top cover over the wiring compartment from the top. Screw in the far left and right screws to secure it. Carefully insert your batteries following the orientation of the picture, you may find that one side goes in first easier. The earlier bend placed into the paperclips should help to provide spring force to hold good contact with the ends of the batteries. Once the batteries are inserted, place a bit of foam rubber over the top of the batteries to help hold them in place. Install the cover, using the tapered end at the bottom and the screws at the top. Insert into your airsoft gun and test in a safe manner. Please not that using rechargeable batteries and a smart charger is recommended for this project and that the manufacturer really should have chosen a solution like this from the start. Thank you for building.
