I engineered this solution to overcome a problem with scanners breaking off at the rotation point. This foundation provides a snug fit and aligns screw holes precisely. It's currently optimized for right-handed users. Note: The on/off switch cover doesn't fit. I didn't design it to accommodate the switch cover. To assemble, you'll need to remove the switch assembly from the old base and attach it to the new base with springs and the original switch button. Then, run wires through the base where they can be resoldered to the switch board. I secured the switch in place by melting the switch cover onto the base using a soldering iron.
