Repeating Mini Crossbow Box
thingiverse
I crafted this box and its accompanying ammo to complement the Repeating mini crossbow designed by u/DIYPark (Thing #2725597). The darts are the only projectiles fired through my mini crossbow. The box is engineered for darts to occupy the left small compartment, the bow fits snugly in the main chamber, and the right small compartment is reserved for targets I have yet to design. This design necessitates that the actual bow of the crossbow be detachable, but you don't need to remove the string. The hinge is intended to utilize a piece of filament threaded through, just like the bow is assembled. However, I've been struggling to achieve this completely, even after drilling out the hinge slightly. Drill bits do work, but 1.8mm bits are exceptionally short. I managed to get the filament through the holes and much deeper than I drilled out. It was a slight misalignment issue. The top rotates well, but doesn't hold position perfectly. I've also designed and printed some "straps" to keep the box closed as I noticed the top was bowing, with the low point being the catch. I'll upload the STL files for those straps soon, and when I remember, I'll upload the STP/IGS files too.
