Repair part for BT Handset Charger
thingiverse
This is a fault that affects the charging pins on BT base station charging pins on BT8500 DECT handsets. The small horizontal peg that supports the torsion spring breaks (usually one side only), so the charging pins don't connect and the handset goes flat. This is the second of my base stations that have failed like this, but they do get used a bit and are a few years old. A quick measure gets taken, dropped into CAD software, exported as an STL file, fired up the Robox 3D printer, and 14 minutes later at 0.2mm layer heights with 30% fill, the thing is fixed. Not the most elegant solution, which just saddles the two springs to stop them dropping and relies on the base cover to clamp together, but for a few minutes of time, it beats getting an overpriced replacement, and costs pennies to make. I used BigRep Pro HT filament, but PLA would be fine because there's no force acting on it.
