Render Shadowbox - silhouette frames
thingiverse
Frame design based on the one I encountered with Star Wars Battle Droid Silhouette Ornament by 3DPrintBunny https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4600786 Renders an empty frame that you can add artwork to. =========== How to run this code ================ This is an openscad file. The program is open source and available at https://www.openscad.org/downloads.html Press F5 to refresh. View or WINDOW and uncheck "Hide Customizer" to see customizer input screen. OpensCAD program F6 to generate/render and then STL export Slice your STL in your slicer and print You can also import and manipulate what you want to add. Be sure to place it on the edge without the slot and that you are viewing it from the front of the box when designing... otherwise it will print opposite if you are looking through the back (the side with the slides). Examples of its use https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4933105 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4933208 These are the parameters. //Render the box or the back what_to_print = "shadowbox"; //[shadowbox, plate] // box width tb_width = 120; //box height rl_height = 80; //frame depth frame_depth=15; //frame thickness frame_thick=4; //stop height stop_height = 10; //Plate Thickness (only used when rendering a plate). 1mm works with 4mm thickness anything else is an experiment as I did not test it. backplate_thickness = 1;
