Renault Twizy replacement hinge for charging hatch
thingiverse
I've redesigned the charging hatch hinge of my Renault Twizy to be more robust. The original design was prone to breakage, requiring an entire new hatch as a replacement part. I took it upon myself to reverse engineer this critical component and create a stronger, bolted assembly using M5 bolts for added security. To simplify the installation process, I incorporated an internal hexagon socket on the printed component. However, the nut did fit quite snugly, so I opted to install a screw instead and gently tapped it into place with a hammer. The finished result boasts two prominent bolt-heads that give my vehicle a distinctly post-apocalyptic "Mad Max" aesthetic.
