Removeable X Carriage System for the FLSUN I3 Original

Initially, I just wanted to upgrade my 40mm Fan + Fang Combo but it evolved into a comprehensive new X Carriage system for the FLSUN I3 Original. Hope you find it useful. You'll need to use supports and I highly recommend printing with PETG. Requirements E3D V6 Hotend 40mm Fan 5015 Radial Fan 4 - M3 x 16 screws 6 - M3 x 20 screws 6 - M3 nuts 1 - M2.5 x 5 screw (or one of the screws used for mounting a hard drive in a PC) The nuts are inserted with the points upward. See pic for reference. **List of Changes** * *The Fang* - The arms were brought in so the Fang can be mounted with the 40mm fan on the outside. This helps bring in the weight of the radial fan closer to the rotational axis (hotend) and decrease the rotational momentum. Also I thickened the 40mm fan mount flange and shrunk the screw holes to 3mm. This will allow you to screw the fan onto the flange before mounting to the 40mm fan shroud... makes for a much easier mounting than trying to align 3 parts and screw them together. Also, the thickness helps with durability. There is also the blend file included if you want to print a version with the sensor mounts. * *40mm Fan Shroud* - Added a stay on screw that will help keep the shroud, fang, and fan combo in place. This requires a short 2.5mm screw. I'm using a hard drive mounting screw for my PC. Also gave the hotend clamping area a bit of flex so it's less likely to crack when putting on. * *Removable Hotend Mount and Clamp* - Just a simple way to make the hotend mount replaceable instead of having to take apart the printer to remove the whole X Carriage. * *X Carriage* - Converted it to a removable mounting system. You can expand on this and make your own mounts for whatever you want.. like a pen mount for drawing, maybe even a laser? That would be cool. **UPDATES** * *20170904* - Added a hole on the hotend mount to make it easier to push out the supports in the nut slot. * *20170926* - Added v2 of the fang with airflow angled more toward the nozzle.
