Remove Before Printing - Dust Cover
prusaprinters

To test out ironing i created this simple "Remove before Printing" tag similar to a Remove before Flight found on many aircraft.

Once printed simply insert some spare 1.75mm filament in the hole. The hole is 1.60mm so it's a tight fit. I had success with using a pointed tip and some pliers to slowly and carefully work the filament into the hole then trimmed it to fit.

I used Red for the tag and white for the letters, printed in PLA.

Print instructions

Print Settings Below.

Resolution: 0.20mm Quality
Material: PLA
Filament Profile: Prusament PLA
Filament Brand: Spool 3D Red, Canadian Maker Series White
Ironing: Enabled all top layers
Detect Thin Walls: Enabled
Extra Perimeters: Enabled
Other: Added a colour change at 4.20mm for lettering.
Approximate print time: 90 Minutes
Printer: Prusa MK3S

Post printing

Cut a segement of 1.75 filament approximately 5-6" in length.
Cut a spear/point on one end.
CAREFULLY insert the pointed end into the printed part using pliers, until around 0.5-0.75" of it is inside or until snug.
Test fit the other end of the filament in the extruder.
Trim end until you get a desired print.

Remember to remove before your next print :)
