Removable transport handle for Microcube
thingiverse
This handle can be quickly attached to the frame of the Microcube, making it easy to transport. It requires some sewing materials and skills. **You'll need:** - 2 x soft_handle_support.stl - 2 x r_soft_handle_support.stl (reversed ones) - 2 x 8mm tubes 70mm long (you may have scraps of the Microcube structure) - A 40mm width 40cm long strong fabric for the handle itself. And a belt or an old strap, for example. I use a piece of judo belt (3€ in any sport shop). It must be thick and strong. - Super glue - Sewing needle, good strong thread **Instructions:** - Print the parts - Make a handle terminal using a soft_handle_support and a r_soft_handle_support, inserting them into each side of an 8mm tube. Glue them on the tube to ensure they won't move. Ensure the hooks of each printed part are aligned, and distant by 70mm. The best thing is to attach the item to the Microcube structure, on the rear top tube (in its final position), and wait a few hours for the glue to set strong. - Make the second handle terminal - Attach one end of the belt to a terminal: - If necessary, make a hem at the end of the tissue belt. - Place that end around the rod of a terminal, having the belt covering itself on 30-40mm on its bottom. Take care of the side (look at the picture). - Sew it tight and strong. - Then sew it again to be sure (we don't want our precious Microcube to fall on the floor and break). - Attach the other belt end to the other terminal, after checking and adjusting the length to your need. Take care of the side of the terminal, the hooks of the terminals must clip from the outside to the inside, for better mechanical resistance. I sew the bottom belt end once clipped onto the printer, for aesthetic purposes. If you're not confident in your sewing skills, sew it on top, and it will be a bit more resistant. Or better: ask someone who can do strong seams.
