If you want your kids to be able to unlock the door while playing outside, consider threading a rope through the mailbox so they can pull it open. However, if you have a round doorknob like I do, this isn't really an option. Therefore, I designed this simple removable handle that can easily be taken off when not in use. This way, I avoid making it too easy for people who are not my kids to enter the house. When removed, only a small piece remains attached to the doorknob. I believe this device should work with most doorknobs since they're all pretty much standardized. On October 10, 2015, I updated the design by adding an improved arm because the original one wasn't strong enough over time.
