A convenient tilt-back stand for guitar amplifiers. Amps are typically positioned parallel to the floor but if better sound quality is desired, it's usually best to aim the amp at your head in live situations. This minimal solution can be easily installed by simply placing it in a cabinet and pulling it out when needed. This particular stand was designed to fit my Fender Princeton Reverb Reissue amplifier. It securely attaches to the back bracing panel, which is approximately 11mm thick. I also tested this on another tube amp I own, and the thickness remained the same, suggesting that this may be a standard sizing for many amplifiers. A 0.5-in diameter wooden dowel is required for this stand, which can be easily obtained at an art supply or hardware store for a couple of dollars. One end should be cut at a 45-degree angle (a mitre box can be 3D printed if needed), while the other end should be cut straight across at the desired height for the angle you want to achieve. I cut mine at 20cm, but this may vary depending on where the bracing of your amp is located and what angle you prefer. You might need to perform some trigonometry to get precise numbers, but I can provide some common angles as a starting point. First, measure the height (in centimeters) from the floor to the bottom of the amp's back bracing. Let's call this measurement "Y". - For a 60-degree tilt (which is considered ideal), multiply Y by 0.866 for the dowel length in cm. - For a 45-degree tilt (a more extreme angle), multiply Y by 0.707 for the dowel length in cm. Attach and glue the corresponding 3D-printed pieces to each end of the dowel. You may want to replace the rounded bottom cap with a 0.5-in diameter rubber foot if you prefer improved grip, or print that piece in TPU if possible.
