Removable Hinge
thingiverse
This is a removable front-door hinge designed for QIDI Tech 1 Printers and potentially suitable for equivalent MakerBot printers, though this has not been verified. Feel free to adapt it to suit your needs on other printers. The hinge allows the front door to swing freely while also being completely removable when full access to the print bed is necessary. I disliked holding the door up with my head when working inside the printer and preferred a simpler solution. This design mounts in existing holes in the door and frame, requiring no modifications. Four extra hex nuts are needed to attach the hinge to the door. A magnetic stop has also been added to the bottom of the door, and I can upload that design if anyone requests it. Print Settings Printer: QIDI Tech 1 Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: Standard (0.2 mm) Infill: 20% Notes: I didn't use a raft as I have not experienced issues with my parts adhering to the print bed. In fact, mine tend to stick together like they've been glued! ABS was used for printing, but PLA shouldn't pose any problems either. Three shells were utilized.
