Removable Folding Spool Arm for Lulzbot Mini

We set out to build a custom enclosure for our Lulzbot Mini 3D printer, requiring us to upgrade the stock pivoting spool holder. So we created a bracket to mount a detachable spool arm. Initially, we improvised with a hack - literally sawed off the bottom of the original arm and designed a printable bracket that made it removable in OpenSCAD. However, we were never fully satisfied with this solution. Therefore, here is an improved design for the spool arm, utilizing the same bracket but modifying the top end to pivot and fold up for easy storage. We are pleased with the final outcome and are thrilled that it can still be printed, allowing both components to fit within the build platform of the Lulzbot Mini. In contrast, the original stock arm did not accommodate this feature. As part of our ongoing effort to enhance our enclosure kit for the Lulzbot Mini, this project offers an accessible solution. With regards to print settings, users may use the LulzBot Mini, with standard resolution, and infill set at 10 or 20 Percent - both options are fine. When assembling this project, two M5 bolts or a single long bolt are required for secure attachment. Our design enables reuse of the two original bolts provided with the stock arm, making it unnecessary to purchase any additional materials. By unscrewing these two bolts from the old arm and screwing them into the ends of our new pivoting arm on the pillar, users will have a seamless assembly experience - simple as that!
