Remote Power Switch for 3D Printers
thingiverse
I got fed up with the placement of the power switch on my Qidi Tech 1 printer, so I decided to give it a major overhaul. Unfortunately, I tend to overdo things, and before I knew it, I had created something much bigger than I originally planned. My modeling skills are virtually nonexistent, so if you can come up with a better box or case for this project, I'd love to see what you've got. To the point. Using an Arduino Uno, a Relay Shield v2.1 from SeeedStudio, and a few other components, I created a device that turns my printer off in two ways: either by holding down a button for 2 seconds or using an old universal remote control I had lying around. If you decide to make this thing, let me know what you think of it. If you're trying to build this and need help with the IR codes, just give me a shout - I'll do my best to assist you.
