Remote Power Down for Raspberry Pie 3 Model B+
thingiverse
This remote shutdown modification works specifically with the Raspberry PI 3 Model B+ running a stock Octoprint disk image. It introduces a 25-second time delay to allow the PI to boot and activate its external USB ports before shutting down. Once booted, power remains locked in until a system shutdown is initiated through the browser. When shutdown begins, a 25-second timer commences as soon as the external USB ports are powered off, giving the PI ample time to complete a full park before powering down completely. The setup always starts with a push-button cold boot and doesn't require recycling power. This design can be easily adapted by adding an extra relay to also shut down printer power in future revisions. Although it should work on other printers as well, this modification was tailored for the CR-10S, which would keep its display powered up if left operational when switched off, a frustrating issue that this solution addresses.
