Remote Driven Extruder, not a bowden
cults3d
This is a very experimental remote driven extruder to get the speed of a bowden with the accuracy of a traditional extruder, i have not tested as of yet but everything assembled correclty in inventor assembly as shown so I'm putting this up for those who want a crack at it until i can get to my printer, also i lowered the motor mount and idler for the belt to give better clearance. most parts will need to be rotated and/or dropped to bed level. I've included all ipt's for inventor, to adapt this to another shaft you would need to change the little_gear insert and coupling all else would remain with a slight possibility of needing to enlarge the hole for the shaft to pass through in the extruder body if is much larger but remember the 608 only has a 8mm internal diamater so that would be the limit, the big gear is a massive file and I won't be uploading the ipt but it shouldn't be needed EDIT- added a pic showing new belt clearance at full z height with the lowered belt position also puts the belt more inline with the x carriage on the bottom so less distortion meaning a smoother ride on the x-axis EDIT 2- just realized the export on the stl's was in cm not mm so they where 10 times to small, new stls uploaded inspired by http://garyhodgson.com/reprap/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Prusa-Mendel-Off-Carriage-Extruder-PoC-MattRobertsCompactExtruder.png
