Remote Area Hydrogen, Electricity, and Clean Water Production Faciltiy
grabcad
This is a concept for use in remote areas of the globe. Whether power and clean water are needed for disaster affected areas, or a way to make hydrogen available for home use in third world countries is needed. As an example, in Afghanistan, the majority of a young person's day can be spent collecting water or cooking fuel (whether wood or dung). This facility based on an ISO 20ft shipping container can provide both. Using designs for cooking developed by the University of New South Wales, hydrogen could easily replace traditional wood cookers. Using COTS reverse osmosis machines, fresh water can be produced and stored. While the concept here uses solar power, other methods such as wind or micro-hydro could also be adopted. Power from the fuel cell can also be produced, allowing the children with more free time to use modern tools to access education.
