Remixed to use the Creality V2.0/2.1 boards with TL-Smoothers in the left case
thingiverse
I have the V2.1 board installed in my Ender 3, and while it fits perfectly in the original case, it didn't fit in the new one. Three new mounting holes were needed due to the larger size of the V2.? boards compared to the originals. The TL-smoothers won't fit next to them. To avoid tearing out the board completely for precise measurement, I created glueable parts for the three new mounts. One is placed in the upper right corner, one in the upper left, and one in the lower left. If you decide to follow my lead, simply lay the board in the case, mark the three holes, apply epoxy to the mounts, and drill a small hole. Alternatively, someone else can remix the parts and place them in the correct spots. The left case is now home to the four TL-smoothers, as well as an FYSETC heated bed controller. This setup might be useful for those using non-Creality V1.? boards and wanting to incorporate TL-smoothers or a heated bed controller. Several days later, I installed the board, smoothers, and two FYSETC controllers. The printer started up smoothly, and all parts worked as expected when tested with Pronterface. I also updated the Marlin firmware, which required redoing the PID tuning and other adjustments. A 20mm test cube and boat came out perfectly, putting my printer back into operation. You don't have to use the extra mounting pads; the ones provided will hold the board in place. However, if you prefer a more secure installation, you'll need them. I added them to mine for extra support. The case holes fit well with M3x6mm bolts. The 4-pin jumpers supplied with the TL-smoothers are too short. Instead, I used 200mm long JST female-to-female connectors. I employed TH3D's mounting plate for the second FYSETC controller. It can be carefully epoxied to the outside of the case housing the heated bed controller, making it ideal for the hot end heater on my printer.
