We split up the Roter Sand lighthouse parts A, B, F, and G from josemivaz to match the Prusa i3 printer bed precisely. Now these parts need to be assembled together with glue. We created two distinct versions of part A and B: without _fixable in their filenames: These files do not include an option for attaching them to the ground securely. with the _fixable tag in their filenames: These files contain a hidden attachment that allows you to mount the lighthouse firmly on the floor using M8 screws. This feature prevents theft and damage from strong winds. All other parts can be used as they are, sourced directly from josemivaz at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1009560. We utilized 3D Builder from Microsoft and slic3r for our project. Draft settings could also help prevent warping issues. Important note: The objects involved are extremely large and will require a considerable amount of time to print successfully! Here are the print settings we used: Printer Brand: RepRap Printer Model: Prusa i3 Raft settings: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 mm Infill percentage: 10% 3D Honeycomb Notes: Using less infill could save time and material, but might compromise stability. We used the slic3r's 3D honeycombs for this project, which balances low infill with high stability. A possible alternative would be to use less than 10% infill if you decide to go with the 3D honeycomb option.
