Remixed Clone trooper phase 1 helmet (orig by Dylan91)
thingiverse
I imported the STL file from Clone trooper phase 1 helmet by Dylan91 into Blender and added a modifier called Solidify. I used a thickness of 1.6mm, then had to adjust some vertices on the inside of the helmet at the 'ear' part where they were out of place causing holes when sliced in Cura. After adjusting them, I exported the model to an STL file. Once I got into Cura, I rotated the helmet 180 degrees on the y-axis so it would print upside down, making it look better and requiring less supports. The larger version of this model at full size will take about 21 hours with supports to print, measuring 152.6mm high, 127.9mm wide, and 142.5mm deep. It weighs 75g and uses 25 meters of filament. I added a small version of the helmet that only took 6 hours to print, which is 50% smaller on the x, y, and z axes. The dimensions are 76.3mm tall, 64mm wide, and 71.2mm deep. I've included pictures of the smaller version before any cleaning up. The larger version was going to take too long for me today, so I also made some changes to the STL file and uploaded a better version. Slicing in Cura at Standard Quality with .2mm layers shows that it will take 32.5 hours to print. If you want to print it at a smaller size, download the original model from Dylan91, adjust the thickness with Solidify in Blender, then go inside the model and adjust a few vertices on both ear pieces to get rid of holes that will show up when sliced. I'd like to thank Dylan91 for uploading the original Phase 1 helmet.
