Remixed Caliburn backbutt (with lengthened guide rod)
thingiverse
A speedy experimental remix of the Caliburn back butt piece takes place, with only one modification - a lengthened guide rod that is almost twice as tall as the original. [UPDATE] 24 April 2018: extensive testing reveals that having a longer guide rod does not simplify the prime nor alter the performance of the spring (fps). Therefore, consider this purely an aesthetic option, if you prefer seeing your spring straight instead of flexed/bent. WARNING: print and use this at your own risk, and definitely adjust your print settings for maximum strength - a guide rod this long is almost certainly prone to breaking sooner. RELEASE NOTES: v0.3 (13 May 2018) A remix of the back butt with socket plate cover, featuring a longer guide rod, works perfectly for keeping the nuts in place. This design is now used on all my Caliburns. v0.2 (6 April 2018) The solid guide rod is replaced by one with a thru-hole for increased strength and to act as a suction vent. Credit goes to CaptainSlug for the suggestions that led to this improvement. v0.1 (5 April 2018) Initial release, featuring a solid guide rod.
