Remix under cabinet towel holder
thingiverse
I was blown away by the under cabinet towel holder from Dalianes, but I knew I'd have to think outside the box when it came to printing the round bar with threads - my wife had her heart set on a 315 mm long design. So, I swapped out the round bar for a square one with matching holes, allowing me to print everything flat without any pesky supports getting in the way. After printing up one towel bar, she wanted more, and we kept tweaking and modifying until I landed on a design that was perfect - even if it wasn't exactly what we'd started out with! I ended up creating a custom towel bar that clocked in at 413 mm long, all thanks to my trusty Ender 5 Plus. Big thanks for sharing such an awesome thing! Getting the correct fit for the bar and hole took some trial and error - I had to fine-tune my slicer settings until it was just right. Luckily, I'm a PrusaSlicer 2 user, so tweaking the XY Size Compensation in Print Settings - Advanced did the trick. I landed on a setting of -0.09, which made all the difference. Cura users, take note: you've got the same adjustment feature available to you under Horizontal expansion. Trust me, this is a total game-changer for any prints that require parts to mesh together seamlessly.
