Remix of Tothe's Crystal
thingiverse
I wanted to incorporate a vibrant RGB LED into Tothe's impressive "Giant Crystal" project. I happened to have a 30mm diameter and 25mm high color-changing LED readily available. I decided to print it at a 5% infill with supports, which I later removed from the LED chamber. Overall, I'm pretty pleased with the result. To achieve this look, you'll need to set your 3D printer to a very low infill percentage - around 5%. Keep in mind that crystal_led_2.stl has a slightly thicker top layer on the base, which helps redirect less light around the crystal and more into it. In contrast, crystal_led.stl emits more light on the outside of the crystal, particularly when printed at higher infill percentages (30% or above).
