Remix of TopsCNC Parts
thingiverse
When I stumbled upon the impressive CNC by Topsie, I was compelled to build it, but I had already invested in parts for another project. So, I made the decision to repurpose some of these components to utilize what I already had. The z cart and top front z axis were modified to incorporate 12mm linear shafts and 4 LM12UU bearings, which resulted in a slight increase in dimensions and reduced available travel by approximately 16mm in x and 10 mm in z. I redesigned the router clamps for my Ridgid laminate router. The router shaft is not a perfect cylinder, so I adjusted the dimensions and added necessary cutouts to accommodate its unique shape. Additionally, the router sat higher than expected, limiting z axis motion, so I lowered the mounting plate and reinforced it to clear any protuberances. To change the orientation of the gantry and stepper motors, I modified the drag chain supports. The drag chains on my 3d printer were a bit stiff, so I revised them with more clearance. Furthermore, the drag chain wouldn't fit on the support next to the yaxi stepper motor, so I lengthened one of the links for a better fit.
