Remix of Top mounted spool holder Robo 3d R1 + plus
thingiverse
I'm obsessed with having a top-mounted spool holder. I've got one on my other printer, so I wanted to get one for my Robo 3D R1 + too. Unfortunately, the wheels that came with the original Top Mount Spool Holder were a disappointment - they just wouldn't print right. To minimize resistance, I always use bearings. And you can get them for under $9 on Amazon! Here's the link: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B002BBGTK6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 To make this top mount spool holder, simply print the bracket as normal. You'll need 4 bearings and their corresponding hubs, along with 8 washers (I included a cutout design but haven't tried it yet - I used my Dremel to modify mine). Also, you'll need 4 screws. Some people swear by using M3 * 25 Screws and Nuts as fasteners with metal washers, but I haven't tried that myself. Once you've assembled everything, you'll have an amazing, smooth-rolling spool holder for your Robo 3D printer. Print Settings: * Printer: Robo 3D * Printer Model: R1 ABS + PLA Model * Rafts: No * Supports: No * Resolution: .1mm * Infill: 15% * Notes: I used a shell thickness of .8 for both the horizontal and fill layers. I also printed at .1mm layer height, with a print speed of 45mm/s and a nozzle temperature of 200C and bed temperature of 50C.
