Remix of Star Farer from Star Citizens
thingiverse
Happy Christmas! I've got a remix of the Star Farer from Star Citizens. As always, I made some changes to the original (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2702291): - Size: Scaled up from 20 cm to about 62 cm - Changed the weapons for others with more details - Sliced the complete spaceship new. I don't know why the builders take every time the smallest joints for slicing. Horrible to glue so I set new part sizes. - Made it hollow - Added door - Fuel Tank and Cargo are screwed to plate with 3 mm screws. - Complete LED Cutouts built in - Made complete new pilots with more details and space for LEDs - Attached a second foldable wing for better stability in flight. Screwed to wing with 3 mm Screws. - The LED in the Jet Engine have to be built in before gluing it together and then attach it to the body. Hole is cut in the middle part for the power cable. - Attached the movable legs from the spider tank. Choose what version you want: With or without LED. - You have to mirror the needed body parts for the other side. If you have problems contact me, then I can check/make missing parts if needed. But shouldn't be a problem when you orientate and mirror in the correct axis in the slicer. I am in print at the moment and the model is so heavy that the legs will not hold the weight when standing. I will glue them permanently in. ------------------------------------------------- Merry Christmas! I've made a remix of the Star Farer from Star Citizens. As always, I've changed some things for the better: - Size: Scaled up from 20 cm to about 62 cm - Exchanged the guns for more detailed ones that can be rotated. In the original, all guns are fixed. After printing, you have to remove them a bit to get the right movement or resistance. They're only attached. - I've resliced the entire ship after upscaling. I don't understand why designers in the original always take the weakest spots as slicing points. It's a horror to glue everything together. So, I resliced it. - Made it hollow - Added a door on the underside so that light can come out and access is possible - Fuel Tank and Cargo are screwed to the plate with 3 mm screws and then glued in place underneath. It's easier and you can install 1-4 Cargo or 1-2 Fuel Tanks. They're resliced, so print them and glue them together. - Complete LED Cutouts all over the ship - Made completely new pilots because the Marines didn't fit and there are a lot more details. There are also holes for screen lighting and cable routing available. - Added a foldable "Air Wing" to the rear wing. The idea is from Babylon 5 with the new fighter planes that had foldable wings for atmospheric flight. In reality, the ship would never fly without additional wings, but it looks good. - You have to build in the LEDs in the outer areas before gluing everything together. Otherwise, you won't be able to get inside anymore. And then check the cables too, because you might not be able to get inside later either. So, print one half first and check the cable paths and LEDs, and the principle is from outside to inside. - I've added the movable legs from the spider tank (one of my last remixes). They're moveable and both versions of the legs are included: With or without LED Cutouts. Decide for yourself, but I recommend with LED Cutouts. - You have to mirror the missing body parts in Cura or your 3D software. If you have problems, just contact me and I'll create or upload the missing part. It shouldn't be a problem if you align it correctly. - I'm currently printing and the model is so heavy that the movable legs can't hold it up. So, I'll glue the legs permanently in place. That should fix it. Sources: Star Farer original: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2702291 Pilot (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1761697) Legs and weapons from my last remixes
