Note: Any future effort on this will be posted here: https://www.printables.com/model/245671-remix-of-remodeled-flying-tourbillon-model-15-by-c -- Remixed from: REMODELED Flying Tourbillon Model 1.5 by by CMPND3D: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5399399 which is a remix of Flying Tourbillon Model 1.5 by A26: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2751917 I included a printable 608 bearing in the model from DrMcWoofies: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4628063 (I used this 608 bearing only in the Fusion 360 model but ended up using an actual metal 608 bearing in the print) The screws in this design appear be the M3x12 allen head screws. There are M3 retaining nut slots in some parts as well. -- I created a Fusion 360 model that assembled the STL files I generated from the OBJ files posted by CMPND3D to make sense of the assembly. After printing the model out and getting it functional for up to 20 seconds at a time, I believe the assembly of STLs in Fusion 360 is correct to the best of my knowledge. I remixed a few parts, removed some logos for my preferred aesthetics but I left the original files with logos if that is your preference. I also remixed a couple parts to make them function better from my experience working with it. There are two parts that are reworked. Retention_Arm_Bottom_Modified.stl (I removed the unmodified stl. Print this one instead.) Anchor_Modified.stl (made it taller to engage the roller better) I haven't printed the stand but the original didn't look like it would fit quite right in the model so I reworked that as well but is untested by me. I did use large binder clips for axles which were 1.8mm in diameter. My binder clips were not straight from the factory so perhaps there is a better axle option. The holes in the Frames were a little tight but I opened them up for the cut binder clips. The holes in the escapement wheel, Anchor, and the balance/roller assembly seemed to work OK with this diameter shaft. I printed the Anchor but realized it was a little thin to reliably engage the roller so I modified it to make it taller. The Retention Arm Bottom just was too short to stay in place. It would have needed glue so I made the tab longer and put a hole in it to hopefully not interfere with the stand screw. I printed out of eSun PLA+ and had it running for maybe around 20 seconds or so. Not enough to turn a complete cycle before jamming or running out of energy. This is the first time I printed one of these so I am happy it works at all. It is more of a conversation piece. I tried to split the base into two parts to avoid printing support with the intention to glue them together but the split was on a nut slot. It kind of worked but not well so I didn't include the STLs but my poor attempt at splitting the base is in the Fusion 360 model. The idea to split the base needs improvement. All in all, it was project that was interesting to build and nice to see work, even for short bursts. Thanks to CMPND3D for sharing the OBJ files from the remodeling effort. Enjoy.
