I wanted to store some of my Leifheit cleaning equipment on a wall or under a cubboard. So i searched for printable mounts. I found the mount provided by DirkHoefle and printed it. Unfortunately it broke for me on second use because PLA is very brittle and the spring was design very short. So I came up with this remix to inprove the design for my use.

In the end I came up with a design for a support free spring design which works with PLA. It took me a lot of revisions to optimize it an allow a smooth insertions in the equipment. This remix is usable in two ways. You can use the parts to fix the orignal parts or directly print the remixed part.

I think in the furture I will make completly new designs for the Leifheit system to make it more easy to expand for every one.

I would be happy to see some of your makes posted :)

Modifications on the remix:

Seperated tounge from tube

Shortend tube 3mm in height (it got stuck on my equipment)

Complete redesign of the tounge

Designed the tounge as a seperated insert from the top (mainly to be able to fix my borken part)

Added a spline based spring mechanism which works with PLA (for my material)

Made the tounge a little bit smaller and rounded it to fit in the equipment better

Moved tounge 1,5mm out of the cylinder to have it seated better in the equipment hole

Added an angled slide to allow smooth insert in to the equipment

Info before printing:

I recommend to print the “leifheit_tube_remix” first end measure the size of the top hole and compare it to the measurements I have provided (see image).

In case your tube hole size varies I suggest to scale the model a little bit in the slicer.

Alternativly you can thicken the diameter of the “fix_plug” with tape or secure it with some super glue. But it is designed as a press fit.

Print instructions:

Minimal support needed (see image)

Part is mostly optimized for 0,3mm layers

Use 5+ walls to ensure the spring is solid material

Assembly:

Solution 1: To fix the original part:

Saw of 3mm of the original tube (gives a better fit for me)

Chamfer the edges

Press in the “fix_plug”

Done.

Solution 2: To fix the original part:

Pressin the “fix_plug”

Press in the “distance_piece_3mm”

Done.

Solution 3: Print the remix:

Print the “leifheit_tube_remix”

Press in the “fix_plug”

Done.

Optimazation:

I suggest to sand/file of the edges from the tounge (see images).

This will remove the ripples from the layers and allow a smooth insertion in the equipment parts.

Source files in the Alibre Atom format is available but the website does not allow the upload.
