Remix of Articulating Pi Camera for M8 Plastic threads
prusaprinters
I wanted to use this to help video record of engraving with https://www.printables.com/model/163674-dedicated-compact-rotary-axis-laser-engraver , but needed to make some adjustments to the design for it to work me. My printer apparently does not have as good a printing tolerances, so I changed the threading from M6 to M8 and a few other changes and enhancements. I added different tolerance options for the threading, made the threads go all the way thru the nut, made it so not supports needed and a little less tight a fit on camera. The threaded parts I modeled in openscad since that is easier for me to add tolerances than with fusion 360. The only Male threaded part is M8LongBoltThread_Rev1.stl. The female threaded parts are M8Nut_04.stl & BallNut_15_8OD_04_Rev2.stl. The 04, 05, 06 & 07 in those file names are the tolerance gaps between the 2 male/female threading (04 = 0.4mm, 05 = 0.5mm, 06 = 0.6mm & 07 = 0.7mm). I initially used the knurling for the heads, but hex heads were easier for me adjust & could also put a wrench on it if needed. I used a non standard thread angle of 40 instead of 30 & thread pitch of 1.5. If none of those options work for the threading, the openscad source is there for you to adjust. You will need to download the source for the threading from: https://dkprojects.net/openscad-threads/ Instead of using the fflink_90.stl to rotate links 90 degrees, I made it a little more flexible by cutting this FF link in half & putting bumps every 15 degrees (FF_Link_15_Deg_M8 v12.stl) & 22.5 degrees (FF_Link_22_5_Deg_M8_v3.stl) and the use of a M5x12mm screw & lock nut to hold them in place once you have the angle you want. The attached photos have it connected to Misumi 2020 using the parts Misumi2020Bracket_A.stl & Misumi2020Bracket_B.stl.Fusion 360 & openscad source files are included.
