REMIX - Ender 3 JST-XH holder for custom fans
thingiverse
This is a REMIX of https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4284787 I loved the idea behind Bimmer Addict's JST-XH holder for the Ender 3, but my goal was to plan for the inevitable death of my fans, giving me an easy option to just swap when needing a change, while providing options. I also figured others would like options, so I made options for people because more options are always better. **Changes I Made:** 1) I moved the 3rd holding screw down, to better equalize how the whole thing is held together. _Note:_ Because of this, even if you want to use just 2 screws, you cannot use parts from this remix with the original, as the holes do not align. 2) I rounded the edges, inside and outside 3) I created 2 types of back plates, to be used with either socket or flat headed screws 4) I added a choice of labeling to the front of the holder, for easy reference **Labeling Choices:** Choose the holder of your choice depending on your planned project and your personality. So use... ... *Holder_Plain* if you don't like labels and you'll remember what goes where ... *Holder_Labels_Cooling-12V_Series* if you plan on using two 12V part cooling fans (choose either one of two versions) ... *Holder_Labels_Cooling-24V_Parallel* if you plan on using either one or two 24V part cooling fans (choose either one of two versions) ... *Holder_Labels_Generic* if you want some labels, but want just the basic stuff without voltage indicators **What to Print:** 1x Holder (your preference) 1x Back_Plate (your preference) **Hardware:** 3x 2 pin JST-XH 2.54mm 1x 4 pin JST-XH 2.54mm 3x M3x8 socket or flat head screws (or 3x M3x12 flat head screws) Various bits of wire, patience, and soldering skills. **Before Printing This!** I suggest downloading and printing Bimmer Addict's test piece (the one that will hold the connectors) to test your printer tolerances. It doesn't matter if I moved the screw holes, you want to make sure the connectors will fit, adjust your printer if needed. When I tested the file, the fit was just perfect. *Original Notes:* Once this is printed and you are installing it on your printer, press one side down onto the wheel spacer first, then the other. Do not try to push straight down or you may break off one of the ears.
