Remix - BB8 - Star Wars RC Droid
thingiverse
Someone had asked in the BB8 - Star Wars RC Droid thing comments if they could slice the droid body into four parts. This remix is that but really only three parts are needed since the top and bottom are the same shape/part. You would just print part 1-2-TopBottom.stl twice. I am in the process of printing it this way but I am guessing it's not any faster or saves on filament, etc. I am using S3D with a layer height of .15 and the part 3-Middle.stl and 4-Middle.stl took 9.5 hours each to print on my CR-10. The Top/Bottom S3D estimates with support 21+ hours which will be more like 28 hours as S3D is not an exact estimate. Update 1/4/19 - the Top/Bottom stl took almost 24 hours. IMO - this is probably not the best way to print... I am thinking the original way is ideal. My print quality is terrible and the joints are way too noticeable. I have never tried filling or sanding PLA or 3d prints for that matter so not sure if I am going to complete this project or not. 1/7/19 - Added sliced up BB9 Head Remix from Thing https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3232347
