Remington 870 12 GA Shotgun Forend Nut Removal Tool
thingiverse
I needed a forend nut removal tool but didn't want to order one. I decided to create my own instead. It's designed for Remington 870 12 GA, but I believe it should work similarly for others. The hex head requires a 16MM socket. I tried the homemade tool on an old nut from 1977 and it instantly broke the tabs off. After that, I removed it with needle-nose pliers (and some elbow grease) since two people were twisting, then reinstalled / removed it and it worked perfectly fine. It might not be of much help for stuck nuts but should work great if they're reasonably tightened. I printed this tool in CURA, standing upright, using PLA material and default support settings. These settings created a concentric circle around the tool to support the tabs.
