My brother, who instructs young scouts in marksmanship techniques, possesses six Remington 514 youth guns. However, he's encountered an issue - these firearms are challenging to operate for adults due to their design. To resolve this problem, he suggested that I develop a stock extension, which I created. The process involved removing the original end cap and replacing it with a custom-made part. This was achieved through a technique where I drew the desired shape on grid paper to ensure accurate alignment of the physical model. Although not as precise as scanning, this method proved effective. I've discussed this approach in my book "3D Printing Blueprints" and on my old blog, which is available at http://joesmakerbot.blogspot.com/2012/11/picture-perfect-modeling-step-by-step.html. In the future, I might attempt to design a modular extension with a clip-on mechanism.
