Relocating mounting plate for runout sensor
thingiverse
I like @Siam3D 's snap on / slide on design that keeps the mount onto the gantry screwless. Unfortunately the straight design pulls the filament about 45mm to the front of the machine (which may be the source of their reported binding problem?). I originally set out to alter their design directly to move the end 45mm to the rear and 60mm higher (I need to clear a printed filament guide on my machine, should I print to max height). But I'm not good enough with the tools I'm learning, so I made a simple plate that relocates the sensor mount up and back. I also don't like going out to get screws and nuts, so I attached everything with zip ties. It seems to be working as designed (though I haven't printed anything to full height yet to test actual printing clearance and filament movement, just manual movement up and visual inspection). The filament path is nice and linear. I have some slight bending, so maybe I could print it thicker to firm it up. Printed with 4 walls to get some strength.
