I reload blocks with customized steps tailored specifically to small pistols after 38spl/357mag and large pistols after 45acp, as I didn't have a block or tray on hand and leaving powder-filled cases standing on a desk poses a bit too much risk for me. The holes in these reloading blocks are deliberately oversized to ensure that cases don't catch when placed or lifted out, yet still small enough to keep the case securely in place without risking it toppling over.
