Earthenware plaque dated May 2nd, 1814, as noted on its inscription, and crafted to commemorate Madrid's defense against the French army on May 2nd, 1808. Prominent figures Luís Daoiz and Pedro Velarde, captains of the Royal Artillery Corps, are featured, who lost their lives in battle. It was created by José Ibáñez in his Sargadelos factory (Lugo, Spain). Dimensions: 77 x 51 x 4 cm. Reference number: MAN 59563.
