(C)2017 foto y modello tridimensionale Massimo Stefani sastun@hotmail.it "This magnificent relief represents the goddess of Earth, Tlaltecuhtli, in her female version. Despite having been mutilated as a consequence of the Spanish conquest, its beauty and main characteristics can be appreciated: the goddess is standing with her back to us, facing forward with her head and in a natural childbirth position. She has curly hair, a dry mouth, and a skull tied around her waist; at her joints (elbows and knees) are faces resembling claws, similar to that of the knife emerging from her mouth."
