Relief of The Adbuction of Amphitrite by Poseidon at The Parc del Laberint d'Horta, Barcelona
myminifactory
In ancient Greek mythology, Amphitrite was a powerful sea goddess, married to Poseidon, the mighty king of the sea. As part of the Olympian pantheon, she played a significant role as Poseidon's wife and queen of the ocean. However, poets often depicted her as a symbol of the sea, diminishing her importance in the process. In contrast, Roman mythology featured Salacia, the goddess of saltwater, as the consort of Neptune, a relatively minor figure compared to Poseidon.
