Relief Map of Mount Sinabung
thingiverse
A relief map of Mount Sinabung, following a recent major eruption, is available. The data source is Aster Global Dem (ASTGTM2_N03E098_dem.tif) accessible via Earth Explorer (http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov/). For more information on relief maps, see thing:168477 Relief Map of Bora Bora. The map data is 600 arc seconds per side with a vertical scale of 200 meters per millimeter and has been used to create an STL file (mount_sinabung.stl) using a Fortran program. This was converted into binary form and labeled using openSCAD, creating mount_sinabung_labeled.stl. The latter was printed on a Replicator build platform with 2 shells and 5% infill while the former is too large for the Replicator. The small lake northwest of Mount Sinabung is about 1400 meters above sea level, while the volcano stands at 2420 meters high.
