Relief from a Sarcophagus
myminifactory
This relief may have emerged from a freestanding sarcophagus or stone coffin situated at either its top or side. Such tombs were extremely popular in Naples and the surrounding areas during the 1350s. They often featured saints, usually the patron saint of the deceased, within decorative medallions. Here, St James appears on the left-hand side while St John the Baptist takes his place on the right. This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative launched by MyMiniFactory that aims to create a comprehensive digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from around the world for the public's free access.
