myminifactory
Ancient Egyptian relief depiction of Ma’at, carved from limestone and painted with still visible pigments, captures the essence of a bygone era. This fragment, dating to the reign of Amenhotep III, was once part of an enigmatic larger motif that has long been lost to the sands of time. Yale University Art Gallery's Ancient Art Collection proudly displays this artifact as Catalog No. 1936.45, a testament to its enduring significance. The 3D color interpretation featured in the installation Seeing Blue in the Ancient World was showcased at the Yale University Art Gallery from November 9, 2018, to March 3, 2019, within the exhibit Sights and Sounds of Ancient Ritual. Thanks to the tireless efforts of Chelsea Alene Graham, Digital Imaging Specialist with the Yale Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, and Andrés Garcés, Conservation Assistant III at the Yale University Art Gallery, this ancient relic was meticulously scanned and processed using cutting-edge technology. The Artec Space Spider and Artec Studio Professional software were employed in 2018 to capture the intricate details at a resolution of 0.3 mm.
