This relief is part of the Vystavka Dostizheniy Narodnogo Khozyaystva (VDNKh), a permanent general purpose trade show and amusement park in Moscow, Russia. It depicts three fishermen working in the docks, with a big ship visible in the background. Little information exists about this piece, likely used solely as decoration for the amusement park. The exhibition center was rebuilt during Joseph Stalin's era. The chosen site was Moscow's northern suburb Ostankino. Vyacheslav Oltarzhevsky, the main planner, envisioned a central avenue with fountains and small roads, ending in a big square facing the central pavilion. A statue of Vladimir Lenin once stood before the pavilion. In the central square, a large fountain called "the friendship of people fountain" was created to honor the people of the Soviet Union. Later, another fountain, "The Stone Flower Fountain," was added, facing the "Ukraine Pavilion." Another small square faces the Space Pavilion, where a Tupolev Tu-154 aircraft stands in the center, placed there in the 1960s after the "Agricultural machinery" pavilion became the "Cosmos pavilion." A big statue of Joseph Stalin once stood in this square until 1948. This statue had previously been located on the banks of the Moskva River in the city center. The square is called "The Industrial Square." The northern area of the site is a shared space between the exhibition center and the nearby botanic garden of the Russian Academy of Sciences, featuring agricultural pavilions, an estate with pools, and vegetation, including the "Michurin's Garden" and the "golden spike fountain." All fountains in the central area are covered with gold. Many statues are scattered throughout the site, particularly those of Soviet Union leaders. Additionally, cinemas, cafe houses, theater pavilions, and a church built after the fall of the Soviet Union are located on the site. In the southern area, near the central entrance, lies an Amusement Park featuring the Moscow-850 Ferris wheel, constructed in 2004 for Moscow's 850th anniversary celebrations. Also built was the restored pavilion of the Soviet pavilion that appeared at Expo 67 in Montreal in 1967, now known as the "Moscow pavilion." All pavilions and fountains were planned by Soviet architects, while the fountains were designed by Soviet artists.
