Representation of Santa Dorotea as a bust. She is depicted as a beautiful young woman with long, blonde hair in tight curls. Wearing a pink robe embroidered with floral motifs and a head covering. Two bloody wounds are visible, one on her forehead and the other on her neck, referencing her martyrdom - she was beheaded during the Roman persecutions. The sculpture lacks its most iconic attribute, a basket of flowers and apples. An oval-shaped recess in her chest, surrounded by a golden frame, appears to have held some relic of the saint. Based on its stylistic features (elongated figure, expressionlessness, folded robes, treatment of small curls...) and the type of moldings that form the reliquary, this work can be considered representative of Sevillian manierismo from the last quarter of the 16th century.
