The spout on Reliance water jugs is infamous for not sealing properly, and/or cracking due to over-tightening caused by a poor alignment of the spout. This gasket functions as both a seal and a cushion, allowing for additional rotation of the spout another 180 degrees once it has sealed, preventing stress fractures from occurring. It must be printed with TPU flexible filament in order to allow for proper compressibility and flexibility.
