ReliaBuild 3D Extruder Carriage Mounted Limit Switch System
cults3d
This is an extruder mounted X limit switch system for the ReliaBuild 3D printer that is backwards compatible with the Rigidbot (RB1, RBB) printers. It allows for the removal of the limit switch mount on the rear X carriage rod and the use of the shorter limit switch cable connected to the extruder PCB. The "Switch Trip" file marked with RB1 is for the steel frame Rigidbots. The "Switch Trip" file marked with RB3 is for the Aluminum frame ReliaBuild 3D printers. They are not interchangeable if you want a good tight fit. There is a hole in the bracket that can be used to secure it to the rail. If printed with calibrated filament the bracket is tight enough to not need a bolt to hold it in place. I recommend one be used anyway. Skip-Sense enabled RB3 and RBB3 printers will have a threaded hole already in place on the X-Z rail. RB1 printers with a steel frames will need to have a hole drilled and tapped for an M4 bolt. The hole is in line with the rod connector on the other side. The rod connector can be used as a guide for locating the hole. If you use a 1/8" drill you can use an M4 bolt to self tap the hole. The "Limit Switch RB1" file is for mounting an RB1 style limit switch where it points to the side of the PCB. If you drill the holes all the way through it will mount an RB3 style switch which bolts on from the top side. The "Limit Switch RB2" file is for mounting an RB2 style limit switch where it point straight up from the PCB. These files mount on the extruder carriage with bolts that replace the rear left bearing mount bolts using M3-14mm bolts (same bolts used for the main board mount on an RB2 or RB3). These are the switch holders that should be used on a Dual head carriage. They will work on a single mount carriage but will put the nozzle very close to the bed bolts. If you have a single extruder setup and want a little more clearance then use the RB2 Single and RB1 RB3 Single designs. These put 2mm's more of clearance between the nozzle and the bed leveling bolts. The holes for mounting an RB1 or RB3 style limit switch are already all the way through on this design. They have a lower profile to help distinguish the difference between the two configurations. As these are precision fit parts it is highly recommended that you use calibrated filament using the system found here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1037301
