Reinforced Y Motor Mount (3 points and extended rod connection) for Prusa i3 MK2

thingiverse

The original Y motor mount of the Original Prusa i3 MK2 seems perfectly fine, but it looks and feels a bit flimsy. To improve its rigidity, this new version has three holes for mounting the motor, with extended holes mating with the rods. 2016-11-30: I added V08, which features tighter tolerances (8.18 mm) on the holes for the rods, making it equivalent to the original part. This updated version also includes a small nudge at the bottom to facilitate removal of the part from the bed using tweezers. Print Settings Printer: Original Prusa i3 MK2 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 50% Triangular Notes: Printed in bq PLA Pure White for prototyping, while the final print (black) was made with Formfutura ApolloX (ASA). Due to its proximity to the heated bed, it's not recommended to print this Y motor mount in PLA for production use. For optimal results, print with at least five walls. Additional layers will only improve the outcome. Design Details This part was rebuilt from scratch using Autodesk Fusion 360.
